Global revenues derived from mobile apps will expand to $101 billion by 2020, twice the 2015 figure, predicts analytics firm App Annie, which cites the expected rise in inexpensive smartphones as a primary growth factor. Games, which have dominated the app economy, will take a back seat in terms of growth to apps from other industries, the firm predicts.
